ScHoolboy Q Releases "CrasH" & Reveals He Scrapped Three Full Albums Before Finishing 'CrasH Talk'

The TDE rapper spoke to GQ extensively about the road to his new album.

ScHoolboy Q’s fifth studio album, CrasH Talk, arrives this Friday, April 26 via Top Dawg Entertainment and Interscope Records. Earlier today, Q released his third and final pre-release single off the album, "CrasH," featuring production from Boi-1da.

Hours later, in anticipation of CrasH Talk, GQ unveiled a new profile with Q that reveals he scrapped three full albums before coming up with CrasH Talk. According to Q, he estimates he made two albums—"They were trash," he says—and completed a third that TDE labelmates Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock told him wasn't it.

“I'd be in the house smoking weed, just waiting to go to the studio every day. That's not a good life. That brings on depression,” Q told GQ. “You know how bad it is when you're going through all this shit in your head and all you're doing is going to the studio and back home? It's toxic for your kid, too.”
