Coachella's Co-Founder Explains How Kanye West Is Able To Bring "Sunday Service" To The Festival

'Ye is bringing his weekly tradition to Weekend Two.

Kanye West is bringing his weekly Sunday Service performances to Coachella Weekend Two this year.

Coachella co-founder Paul Tollett spoke to Billboard on how the deal came together, explaining that he approached West about the opportunity after seeing the gospel-inspired weekly events go viral on social media. He wanted to bring this "one-of-a-kind music experience to the 125,000 fans who attend each weekend of the festival."

The service will take place starting at 9 a.m. on "The Mountain", a hillside on the Coachella grounds that in the past years has provided a perfect sunset view for festivalgoers. This seems like a pretty appropriate setting considering the Service will be held on Easter Sunday.

"There's different heights that Kanye is going to play with," Tollett said while mentioning the site's unique performance space

To make sure hardcore 'Ye fans have a chance to see the magic, a limited amount of tickets will go on sale tomorrow, April 5, at 3 p.m. PST. To find out more, check out the Sunday Service page at Coachella's website and watch Kim Kardashian's recording of one of the services below in preparation.
