The Newly Released 'Beastie Boys Book' Retells the Group’s Legendary History

The book is available for purchase now.

The Beastie Boys have jumped from the mic to the page with the Beastie Boys Book, a 571-page retrospective of the group. Last week's book release, which is available in audiobook or hardcover format, highlights the trio's evolution and has contributions from the likes of comedian Amy Poehler, as well as directors Spike Jonze and Wes Anderson.

The presence of the late Adam “MCA” Yauch, who died of cancer in 2012, is sprinkled throughout the book with a touching tribute. The rest of the book also touches on the group's creation and their unbreakable friendship.

Beastie Boys Book is written primarily by Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz with stories, think pieces, illustrations, recipes, behind-the-scenes photographs, a graphic novel, cartoons, mixtape playlists, and even a map of the Beastie Boys’ favorite NYC hangouts.

To celebrate their memoir, Horovitz and Diamond have embarked on a Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct book tour. Tickets are still available online.
