Drake's 'More Life' Playlist Is Reportedly Not Eligible for 2018 Grammy Consideration
The March project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Drake's playlist/album More Life may have smashed a slew of records, but the OVO don didn't submit the album for consideration at the 2018 awards ceremony.
A person close to the nomination process, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to publicly talk about the topic, said the multi-platinum rapper did not submit More Life for album of the year or best rap album. The person also said Drake did not submit any of the songs from the album to categories like song of the year, record of the year or best rap song.
Drake earned his seventh consecutive No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with the March project and earned a 505,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
His label, Republic Records, confirmed to The Verge that More Life's "total first-week figure earned around 600 million individual streams across all services worldwide."
